Las Colinas Wedding Photographer Jonny Carroll met bride to be Kristen and her family out at the Las Colinas canals for a bridal photography shoot. Kristen arrived with a full crew, her mom Susan, her dad, and her two sisters, who would be bridesmaids at her wedding.

The complex at Las Colinas features a River Walk-styled canal offering gondola cruises, simlar to San Antonio, but instead in the Dallas area. I have a good friend who lives in the complex, so I’ve been here a few times before. It made for a beautiful photography backdrop. These red windows are just gorgeous and the stairs as well. Of course, Kristen was so pretty as well.

Las Colinas is an upscale, developed area in the Dallas suburb of Irving, Texas. Due to its central location between Dallas and Fort Worth and its proximity to DFW Airport, Las Colinas has been a viable place in the Metroplex for corporate and business relocation. As a planned community, it has many corporate offices, luxury hotels, landmark office towers, luxury townhomes, distinguished single family homes, private country clubs, gated enclaves and urban lofts. Perfect for wedding photography. (except for wikipedia).

This doorway with the vine growing up the wall is so pretty. It reminds me of a european look, specifically italian. Not something you find every day in the Dallas, Texas area. But we found it and used it for our Las Colinas Wedding Photography.

We we forced to start the shoot a little later than I had hoped, but were able to take advantage of it. here’ those light turned on just make the photo for me, the las colinas wedding photographer.

Kristen was so cute. She took a little while to warm up in front of the camera, especially with all her family there, but when she did crack and authentic smile is was fantastic! I think her dad here is making faces back behind me.

Her dad was carrying around this pink chair for a photo. We were finally able to work it into one. Shortly after this we were out of light. That’s a little difficult for a wedding photographer to work with, but I’m thrilled with the results. We made our way back over to the other side of the Las Colinas canal for more photography and used this beautiful hallway.

For the hallway shot, I exposed for the ambient lighting, and then added my own. I put an orange gel on my flash to try to match the tungsten lighting in the hallway area. Above and below are the photography results.

I was happy to be Kristen’s wedding photographer. Christmas lights and some minor ambient mixed with my flashes allowed us to take a couple more photography shots by some pretty flowers.

We started out at The Conservatory Day Spa and Salon in  Kingwood, TX. Just north of Humble, TX. After that we headed to the ceremony area, Walden on Lake Houston Country Club‎. The original plan was to have the wedding outdoors, but rain forced them inside. They and all their friends and family did a wonderful job of turning the reception area into a beautiful ceremony spot.

After the ceremony we had just enough daylight to take some photos of just the bride and groom outside near the golf course. It was beautiful out there, and the rain held off for us. It made for some nice Atascocita wedding photography.

This guy brought a cardboard cutout of a friend who wasn’t able to make the wedding. This is the second cardboard cutout I’ve seen at a wedding. Could this be a growing trend?? haha. Alex was a good sport and danced with him too.

Sarah and Brendan had their engagement shoot in downtown fort worth with fort worth wedding photographer Jonny Carroll. We started off with this beautiful granite building making our way to the historic post office.

The pillars were huge and the post office made for excellent fort worth wedding photography.

They were a blast to work with. Natural and fun in froth of the camera, they even climbed down into this big hole for a photo. They also trusted me, their fort worth wedding photographer with my wacky pose ideas.

They really liked these fort worth loading docs and so did I. They did a great job of picking out locations ahead of time and knowing what they liked. Made my job easy!

Back behind the docs is a train station. We wanted to take some wedding photographs on the train, but the old train cars were not there, and there was this one still running on the tracks. I actually went and asked permission from the operator to take photography and he agreed.

After the train car we headed to some more docs, this time with a little chalk message.

.. and a little wild.

After that, we changed outfits and went to the water gardens. A great place to take some Fort Worth wedding photography.

Sarah and Brendan took advantage of the hot Texas evening and perhaps with a little encouragement from their photographer jumped into the water and splashed each other at the water gardens in Fort Worth, TX.

It was a fun shoot.

Just as a warning, You may prefer to just look at the photos and not read the next, haha. Coppell wedding photographer Jonny Carroll took engagement photos of Kristen and Drew at the grapevine springs park in Coppell, TX. First you’ll see a great photo of them on the bridge. We had a nice cloudy day. It’s a common myth that sunny is better for portraits. I use all my own Coppell wedding photography accent lighting and the clouds do the rest of the diffusion work for me.

Kristen looks like a model here, just gorgeous. This is one of my favorite from the shoot. We made our way over to this white flower budding tree for some photos. The street light in the background that looks like the moon was just a bonus.

We headed into the path for a couple shots. On the photo to the right I put a strobe behind them with an orange gel on it. I think the gel was a full CTO. This technique makes for pretty coppell wedding photography as it almost looks like the sun is setting behind them.

So you might be asking yourself why in the world am I typing coppell wedding photography so much. Well, it simply helps those looking for a coppell wedding photographer online find me. It gets a little repetitive, and I’m sorry for that. This is a little bit of an experimental post.

The dip kiss is always a classic, the variant “dip look” works as well. They’re a cute couple for sure.

It’s very very rare that I’ll use a tree as a large element in a photo. It’s has the potential for major cliche, but this tree at the Grapevine Springs park in Coppell, TX really is amazing, so I couldn’t resist.

I really enjoyed the shoot and I look forward to photographing their wedding. By the end of the shoot, we had a little fun and took some more silly photos. Here’s Kristen stiffing the flower buds we picked from the tree. She proceeded to let drew have a smell as well. She even let her Coppell Wedding Photographer smell it, and I must say, it smelt pretty good.
